The weekly one-off poker tournaments every Friday in The Greyhound, Oakley, have been good, although player numbers have varied. From a high of 12 or 13 players a wee while ago, we’re now down to only 5 regulars.
So, we’re going to change both format and frequency.
New format: a points based league with an end of season prize pool, rather than one-off tournaments, although there will of course be a big monthly prize for the winner on the night.
New frequency: monthly on the first Friday of every month at 7.45pm, rather than weekly.
Hopefully the league will help sustain interest and playing monthly might make it easier for players with other Friday night commitments to set aside one Friday per month for poker.
The first game in the new format will be on Friday 4th November.
